Volleyball Drops Tough 3-2 Decision At Anderson

The Belmont Abbey volleyball team dropped a tough 3-2 decision at Anderson University this evening in Conference Carolinas action. The Abbey dropped the first two sets before rallying to tie the match at four before dropping the fifth set. Scores were 16-25, 19-25, 25-20, and 12-15. Anderson improves to 14-11 overall and 9-2 in Conference Carolinas, while the Crusaders slip to 7-13 overall and 6-6 in Conference Carolinas.

Leanne Cassandra and Bria James led the Abbey with ten kills apiece, while Emily Frohnapfel posted nine. Sydney Steffen added five while Stefanie Holler and Rebekah Weber both tallied four. Weber posted 18 assists while Molly Gwaltney had 16. James led the way with two service aces, while Megan Watts, Frohnapfel and Weber all had one apiece.

Defensively, Carrie Markham posted 14 digs, while Watts had nine and James seven. Frohnapfel registered four blocks, while Weber and Cassandra had a pair each. James and Holler both finished with one each.
