MISENHEIMER, NC - The Belmont Abbey women's volleyball team dropped its 2006 CVAC opener to Pfeiffer this afternoon, 3-0. Game scores were 21-30, 27-30 and 25-30. The Crusaders fall to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the CVAC.

Junior Ashley Ringlein and sophomore Emily Becher both led the way with five kills and eight total blocks apiece. Senior Latoya Gordon added five kills.

Sophomore Monica Halligan led the defense with 21 digs and senior Clarissa Stull added 12. Halligan had five service aces and sophomore Sydney Steffen tallied four. Sophomore setter Sawyer Coble finished with 19 assists.

The Abbey is back in action Wednesday when it will host Johnson C. Smith in its home opener. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
