HARTSVILLE, SC - The Belmont Abbey volleyball team dropped a
four-game decision at Coker this evening. Game scores were 18-30,
30-25, 25-30 and 24-30. The Crusaders fall to 3-7 overall and 0-5
in the CVAC, while the Cobras improve to 6-7 overall and 5-1 in the
CVAC.
The Abbey was led by sophomore outside hitter Sydney Steffen's
13 kills, while Ashley Rignlein added 10. Clarissa Stull finished
with nine and Ashleigh Oxtoby chipped in with eight.
Defensively, Oxtoby dominated at the net with 11 block assists,
while Ringlein tallied eight and Steffen seven. Libero Monica
Halligan finished with 25 digs to go along with four service aces.
Sophomore setter Sawyer Coble handed out 42 assists and recorded 10
digs.
The Crusaders will be back in action Tuesday night when it will
host St. Andrews. First serve at the Wheeler Center is set for 6:30
p.m.
