BANNER ELK, NC - The Belmont Abbey volleyball team fell at
Lees-McRae by a 3-0 count this evening. Game scores were 30-19,
30-10 and 30-14. Lees-McRae improves to 24-7 overall and 16-2 in
the CVAC, while the Abbey falls to 3-21 overall and 0-19 in the
CVAC.
Sophomore Sydney Steffen led the Abbey with seven kills, while
Ashley Ringlein added six and Emily Becher chipped in with
five.
Defensively, libero Monica Halligan finished with a team-high 21
digs, and Steffen added eight. Ashleigh Oxtoby led the Abbey with
four block assists and Ringlein tallied three. Setter Sawyer Coble
handed out 23 assists.
The Abbey is back in action on Saturday when it closes out the
regular season with a match at Converse. First serve is set for
3:00 p.m.
