WATKINSVILLE, Ga. — Ella Wiklander led the way for the Belmont Abbey women's golf team as she captured top medalist honors as the Crusaders wrapped up play at the Golden Marie Classic Tuesday at Jennings Mill Country Club.
The senior entered the final round in second place individually and matched her final round from Monday, shooting a 1-over par 73 to take the individual title by 5 shots over UNC Pembroke's Catherine DeSiena. She finished with a three-round total of 227.
It is the first individual win of Wiklander's career as she helped Belmont Abbey finish second in the tournament behind UNCP.
The Crusaders shot a team total of 325 for a three-round total of 968 to finish second.
Katie Cullen and
Trinity White also earned Top 15 finishes, placing in a tie for 11th and 14th, respectively.
