WATKINSVILLE, Ga. – Ella Wiklander led the way for the Belmont Abbey women's golf team as the Crusaders opened the 2026-27 season at the Golden Mane Classic Monday at Jennings Mill Country Club.

The senior put together a strong second round of 1-over par 73 as she sits in second place individually after the first 36 holes of play. Katie Cullen also had a second round in the 70s, shooting a second-round 77 to sit in a tie for ninth.

The Crusaders are in third place with a two-round total of 643, just one shot back of tournament co-leaders UNC Pembroke and North Greenville. UNCP's Catherine DeSiena leads the tournament by three shots after shooting a 2-under par round 70 in the second round.
