Six Crusaders Earn CSC Women’s At-Large Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Six Belmont Abbey women's student-athletes earned Academic All-District honors as College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the full teams earlier this week. The six Crusaders recognized are as follows: Jillian Cain, Grace Hines and Sarah Schumacher from field hockey, Ella Wiklander from women's golf and Triniti Cassidy and Addyson Greenspan from women's lacrosse. Cassidy, Hines and Wiklander are all on the team for the second time while Cain, Schumacher and Greenspan are on the team for the first time.

Cassidy completed her degree in sports management in three years at Belmont Abbey with a 3.81 GPA. Cassidy had a team-high 44 goals to go with nine assists to make her third straight all-conference team. She earned Conference Carolinas Player of the week honors earlier this week and 45 draw controls, 26 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers over the span of the regular season.

Hines is back on the team and was a team captain for the Crusaders' field hockey program that earned its highest ever seed in the South Atlantic Conference tournament. She finished with two goals as a midfielder and graduated with a degree in biology and a 3.98 GPA. She started every game for the Crusaders this season.

Wiklander is back on the team for the second straight year as she is a marketing major with a 3.98 GPA. She had three Top 10 finishes this season, including a runner-up finish at the Conference Carolinas Tournament this past season. She also earned All-Conference honors for her efforts this season.

Schumacher is on the team for the first time after putting together an outstanding season for the Crusaders. She finished with six goals and two assists while also being one of the top defenders in the South Atlantic Conference this past season. She was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earned second-team All-American honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

Cain completed her degree in psychology in three years from Belmont Abbey. Cain scored two goals and had two assists and appeared in 17 games this season with 16 starts. She completed her time at Belmont Abbey with a 3.89 GPA.

Greenspan is on the team for the first time as well. She was named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year in 2025 and finished with 32 goals and 20 assists on the season. She also had 42 draw controls and 25 ground balls as she was a key part in the Crusader attack this past season. She is an accounting major at the Abbey with a 3.86 GPA.

In the At-Large program, nominations are limited to six nominees per gender per institution. The sports that are eligible for nomination include women's beach volleyball, women's bowling, women's crew/rowing, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo and men's wrestling.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. 
The Academic All-American teams will be released on July 7.
