SMYRNA, Tenn. -- Belmont Abbey averaged 209.41 pins over 32 Baker games Saturday to stand first overall at the halfway point of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championship sectional, held at the Smyrna Bowling Center. The Crusaders hold a 12-pin lead over second-place Webber International.
The Abbey had 20 of its games over 200 with a high of 276 in the seventh game of the day. It sits 229 pins above the cut line to be one of the four teams advancing from the site to the national championship next month.
Sunday's action features 32 more Baker games split between morning and afternoon sessions.
