PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C./GAFFNEY, S.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's golf team began play at two different tournaments Monday. One group of Crusaders travels to the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club to compete in the Spring Bulldog Clash while another two teams began play at the Pioneers Invitational at Cherokee National Golf Club hosted by Spartanburg Methodist.

At Pawleys Island, the Crusaders are 16th with Mariano Estabanez Rincon leading the way in a tie for 25th with a two-round total of 147 (+7). His second round of 71 was the low for the Crusaders for the day. The team finished with a two-round total of 603.

At Cherokee National, the two Crusader teams opened with 18 holes of play and finished rounds of 333 and 335, respectively.

For the A group, Josh Gillespie led the Abbey with an 81 while Evan Eassy shot 80 to lead the B group.
