BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team earned its first two wins of the season thanks to a doubleheader sweep of Augusta Friday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders won the first match 4-1 and then earned a 4-0 victory in the second match of the afternoon.
Belmont Abbey swept all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point while
Ricard Novell,
Charlie Fremaux and
Tim Stemler earned wins at No. 1, 4 and 5 singles, respectively.
In the second match, the Crusaders took two doubles matches with Novell,
Cameron Simpson and
Marcus Bergelin all earning wins.
Belmont Abbey is now 2-2 on the season while Augusta is 1-2.
