Rincon Earns Top 10 Finish, Leads Abbey at Jennison Cup

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Belmont Abbey junior Mariano Estebanez Rincon earned a Top 10 finish as he led the men's golf team in the Jay Jennison Cup Tuesday at the World Golf Village. The teams completed the second round that was suspended before resuming the final round Tuesday.
 
Rincon finished the tournament with a five-under par total of 211 with rounds of 69 and 70 over the final 36 holes. He finished tied for 10th with Barry University's Eduardo Matarazzo.
 
Eduardo Arango also finished in a tie for 19th with eight other competitors after finishing with a three-round total of one-over par.
 
As a team, Belmont Abbey finished with a six-over par total as a team. In the second round, the Crusaders finished with a two-over par total of 290. Will Muldoon highlighted the second round with a hole-in-one on the Par 3 2nd hole. Belmont Abbey finished with a one-over par final round of 289.

Rollins won the team title with a 16-under par team total with Nova Southeastern's Ivan Ponsdomenech winning the individual title at 8-under par thanks to a closing 66.
