ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The Belmont Abbey men's golf team got play underway Monday at the weather-impacted Jay Jennison Cup Monday at the King and Bear Golf Course at the World Golf Village.
The Crusaders completed the first round of play with a team total of 291 (+3) despite having to deal with a two-hour weather delay. Based on scores available, Belmont Abbey was in a tie for eighth while Rollins held the team lead.
Three Crusaders —
Mariano Estebanez Rincon,
Eduardo Arango and
Max Newton — all shot even par rounds of 72 while
Will Muldoon and
Dylan Reiser shot 75.
Ryan Woodley shot 77 competing as an individual.
Through the scores available, Rincon led the Abbey and was 1-under par in his second round when play was stopped.
All teams were able to complete the first round but the second round of play was suspended due to darkness.
