Men’s Golf In Contention at Griffin Invitational

PETERSBURG, Va. — The Belmont Abbey men's golf team turned into a strong two rounds to sit in third place after the first two round of the Griffin Invitational Monday at The Country Club of Petersburg.

The Crusaders sent two teams to the tournament with the A team finishing the day with a 1-over par total of 577. The second team of Crusaders finished with a two-round total of 618.

Will Muldoon set the pace with rounds of 69 and 743 and is tied for eighth overall at 143 (-1). Eduardo Arango finished even par for the day and Max Newton matched Muldoon's best round with a second-round 69.

For the second team, Nick Norman finished with a four-over par total and is tied for 31st. As a team, the Crusaders are third behind team leader Palm Beach Atlantic (-11) and second-place Catawba (-6). Eckerd's Reggie Fear leads the medalist standings at 6-under par.
