GREENVILLE, S.C. -– The Belmont Abbey women's cross country team has been picked seventh in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll, the league office announced today. Voting was conducted among the 16 head coaches, who could not vote for their own teams.
The Crusaders received 142 points, just six behind Southern Wesleyan for sixth place.
North Greenville was chosen to defend its 2024 title with 14 first-place votes and 224 points, while 2023 champion Converse garnered 204 points and one first-place votes. UNC Pembroke was listed atop the final ballot and sits third with 191 points to come in third.
The 2025 Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Championship will take place on Friday, October 24 at 4 p.m. at the Ivey Redmon Course in Kernersville, N.C.
Three Crusaders were listed among the league's runners to watch, led by 2024 second-team all-conference selection
Elizabeth Young (So., Frederick, Md.). She was joined by
Tori Thompson (Sr., Rutherfordton, N.C.) and
Miranda Wilkerson (So., North Pole, Alaska).
