Athletics Celebrates 2024-25 Seasons with Annual Awards Ceremony

BELMONT, N.C. -- The Belmont Abbey Athletics Department celebrated its 2024-25 successes on Monday night, honoring over 150 student-athletes at its annual Athletics Awards Ceremony at Alumni Field.

Individual awards were given out by each team, including the Impact Player, Crusader and Spirit of the Abbey. Accomplishments of the entire year were highlighted as were several Conference Carolinas awardwinners.

In addition, Athletic Department Awards were presented. The evening started with Olivia Carlino (Women's Lacrosse) announced as the Malik Tucker Comeback Athlete of the Year award. Jordan Woods  (Men's Bowling) and Rita Fedewa (Women's Cycling) won Michael A. Nalls Awards as the top freshmen. The Larry Reidy Service Award was given to Reese Sine for her work within the Athletic Department in game operations and as a field hockey manager, while Clare Bruno (Women's Track & Field), Zach Cramer (Men's Volleyball) and Anna Li (Women's Tennis) shared the Father Raphael Bridge Award winner for highest overall GPA, all at 4.0.

The Marty Thomas Awards went to John Caryiannis (Wrestling) and Isabelle Flores (Women's Track & Field) as the top seniors, while Cramer (Men's Volleyball) and Abigail Crain (Women's Basketball) won the Father Martin "Pop" Hayes Awards for embodying the Belmont Abbey College spirit.
