SUMTER, S.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team saw its season come to an end in a hard-fought battle against No. 1 seed Lees-McRae Saturday morning at the Sumter Tennis Center.
The Crusaders took the doubles point but it was the Bobcats who took the 4-2 win over the Crusaders.
Leilany Sanchez and
Elizabeth Vollmin won in No. 2 doubles along with
Alexis Burkhalter and
Paola Socarras at No. 3 to earn the doubles point.
Elona Simonov won in singles play for the Crusaders, who finish the season with a 16-18 overall record.
Lees-McRae improves to 17-5 and advances to Sunday's final against No. 2 seed Erskine.
