GREENVILLE, S.C. — Belmont Abbey golfer Max Newton was named to the Conference Carolinas Men's Golf All-Conference team as the league unveiled the full league honors earlier this week.

Newton, a freshman from Cary, N.C., entered the Conference Carolinas Tournament with a 73.8 scoring average and had earned both Golfer of the Week and Freshman of the Month honors this season.

Newton earned a Top 10 finish at the Lander Bearcat Classic in the spring as well as another Top 15 finish.

He finished tied for 26th individually at the Conference Carolinas Tournament while the team finished in a tie for third.
