NEWPORT, Ky. -- Belmont Abbey captured its third straight Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Bowling Championship Sunday morning, defeating Thomas More 2-1 in the Mega-Match. The win capped an undefeated (3-0) weekend after earning the No. 1 seed in Friday's qualifying.
After dropping the traditional portion of the best-of-three format, the Crusaders evened the score with a 5-game Baker total pinfall win. The mega-match was then decided with a best-of-seven Baker series, which went 4-2 in favor of the Abbey.
Following the championship,
Connor Breaman was named tournament Most Valuable Player, while
Jordan Woods and
Braiden Meyers joined him on the All-Tournament Team.
