NEWPORT, Ky. -- Defending champion Belmont Abbey won its second straight Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Bowling Championship Sunday morning, defeating Walsh 2-0 in the Mega-Match. The win avenges an earlier loss in tournament play when the Cavaliers rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win 4-3.
The Crusaders came out strong with a 949-877 win in the traditional portion to open a 1-0 lead. They trailed by one pin after two games of the five-game Baker Total Pinfall portion but rolled 212-213-190, an average of 205.0, over the final three games to take the title.
With Sunday's victory, The Abbey earned an automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Women's Collegiate Bowling Championship, which is scheduled to begin at four pre-determined regional sites (Arlington, Texas; Lansing, Mich.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Rochester, N.Y.) on April 3-5, with the National Championship slated for April 11-12 at Suncoast Bowling Center in Las Vegas. The NCAA will unveil the 19 teams selected for the NCAA Tournament online at
