INMAN, S.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's golf team closed out the fall schedule on a strong note by earning the win at the rain-shortened Converse Fall Invitational Tuesday at Woodfin Ridge Golf Club.
After Monday's opening rounds were canceled due to inclement weather, the Crusaders put together a good day on the course with three Abbey golfers finishing with rounds in the 70s. The Abbey finished with a 309 total, two shots ahead of runner-up Emmanuel and three ahead of Mount Olive.
Katie Cullen was the top finisher for Belmont Abbey with a 2-over par round of 72. She finished tied for second, two shots behind Barton's Terra Schmitt. Lilanna Carcel and
Ella Wiklander finished with rounds of 76 and 78, respectively, while
Kate Nyers rounded out the countable scores with an 81.
The Crusaders had a second team compete at the tournament with
Kellyn Arnold leading the way with an 84.
