DUNCAN, S.C. -- Sydney Pon had two hits, but Barton squeezed across just enough run to earn a 4-2 win over Belmont Abbey in the loser's bracket of the 2024 Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament Friday afternoon.

The decision closes the campaign with a 22-20 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Pon singled and doubled, driving in both Crusaders' runs.
• Foster Sharpe also doubled, scoring in the second to even the game at 1-1. 
• Dorothy Wunderlich had a pinch-hit single to round out the offensive effort.
• Adison Yoder pitched a complete game, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks. She also struck out two.
