BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team returned to the court for the second time in as many days as the team hosted Erskine Tuesday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders took the doubles point and won four total matches on the day but it was the Flying Fleet who came away with the 4-3 victory over The Abbey. The match is a nonconference match between the two programs
The doubles teams of
Mackenzie McCarthy and
Hanley Riner (No. 1) and
Elizabeth Vollmin and
Leilany Sanchez (No. 3) on their matches with identical 7-5 scores.
Frankee Hendricks won in straight sets No. 1 singles while
Alexis Burkhalter earned a three-set victory in No. 4 singles for The Abbey.
Belmont Abbey is now 4-3 on the season while Erskine is 2-1.
