BELMONT/MISENHEIMER, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team went 3-1 in a pair of split-squad doubleheaders against Augusta and Pfeiffer Tuesday.
The Crusaders split at home against the Jaguars with a 4-3 victory in the opener followed by a 4-2 defeat in the nightcap.
Belmont Abbey rallied to earn the win in the first match by winning 4 of 6 in singles play.
Chase Martin and
Nicholas Cary paired up in doubles to win their match followed by winning in singles play.
On the road, the Abbey earned a pair of 7-2 victories over the Falcons. Both matches were countable for the Crusaders while they were exhibitions for Pfeiffer.
Julian Gonzalez won three matches overall against the Falcons, two in doubles play and once in singles. The full scores will be available Wednesday.
The Crusaders are now 8-7 overall following Tuesday's matches. Augusta is now 6-4.

- The Crusaders will once again split the squads Saturday with a doubleheader against Davis & Elkins starting at 10 a.m at the Reidy Tennis Center.
- The Abbey will also travel to Johnson C. Smith to face the Golden Bulls at 11:30 a.m. in Charlotte.
