BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey wrestling team closed out its final home match of the regular season with a 44-7 victory over Allen in a Conference Carolinas East Division match Thursday at the Wheeler Center.
 
Prior to the match, seven seniors were recognized for their efforts and contributions during their time in the program. They are as follows: team manager Haleigh Evans, Max Buico, Jacob Dodson, Amir Joseph, Justin Crawford, Tyler Pepe and Connor Weeks.
 
The Crusaders won a total of eight bouts, five of which came via falls (pins), including one from Pepe. Buico earned his win on senior night via technical fall.
 
With the win, Belmont Abbey improves to 6-6 overall and 4-4 in Conference Carolinas competition. Allen is now 7-7 overall, 2-5 in conference play. Additionally, the Crusaders and Yellow Jackets have divisional records of 2-2 and 0-4, respectively.
