NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Belmont Abbey wrestling team returned to the mat and went on the road for a Conference Carolinas East Division match against Newberry at Eleazer Arena.
 
The Crusaders earned a pair of wins in the match but it was the Wolves who came away with the 38-7 victory over The Abbey.
 
Elijah Boyd (133) and Maxwell Kiel (157) earned victories in their respective bouts for the Crusaders. Boyd defeated Ben Guilliam in a 16-4 major decision while Kiel had six take downs in a 21-15 decision over Keagan Judd.
 
The Crusaders are now 5-6 overall and 3-4 in Conference Carolinas competition. Newberry is now 6-5 overall and 5-1 in the league.
