Crusaders Host Trojans in East Division Match

BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey wrestling team returned to the mat for an East Division match against Mount Olive Thursday at the Wheeler Center.
 
The Crusaders won three outs but it was the Trojans who came away with the 31-12 victory. Maxwell Kiel won at 157 pounds for the Crusaders, earning a 7-4 win over Jake Nicolosi of the Trojans. Kiel earned the win thanks to a pair of takedowns in the third period.
 
Justin Wright closed the match with a 3-0 decision over Jalyn McClammy. At 133, Elijah Boyd won his bout via forfeit.
 
Belmont Abbey is now 5-5 overall and 3-3 in the conference standings. Mount Olive is now 9-1 overall and 4-1 in league competition.
