Olivia Carlino set a school record with 11 goals and added an assist for 12 points, leading No. 2 seed Belmont Abbey to a 21-8 victory over third-seeded North Greenville in the semifinals of the 2023 Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Championship.

With records dating back to 2011, Carlino scored the most goals in a single game in program history while also matching
Kylie Eastman's record for most points in a single game with 12. Eastman reached that mark on March 29, 2021 against Converse.

Additionally,
Haley Adamo recorded her second career hat trick for the Crusaders while
Summer Eddinger made seven saves in goal for The Abbey.

The win improves Belmont Abbey to 12-6 overall and a spot in the Conference Carolinas Championship game against Mount Olive Sunday in Wilson. The Trojans defeated host Barton 16-7 earlier in the day.

North Greenville closes its season at 10-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- NGU got the first goal on the board before Belmont Abbey took control by scoring seven of the next eight goals in the contest.
- Three of those came from Carlino while Adamo, Christina Fabrizio, Hailey Carroll and Emma Pherson accounted for the other goals.
- Belmont Abbey out-shot North Greenville 13-2 in the first 15 minutes and 41-20 for the game.
- From the 11:19 mark of the second quarter to the opening minute of the third period, Carlino accounted for four of the five goals in that stretch for The Abbey.
- Adamo's goal with 9:15 left in the third quarter gave Belmont Abbey a 10-goal lead.
- Carlino's goal with 2:59 remaining in the contest proved to be the record-breaking goal and added another goal with 41 seconds remaining to cap off a strong performance.
- She also finished with 17 shots and 15 on goal, both season bests.
- Belmont Abbey and NGU finished with 16 draw controls and also had 10 caused turnovers led by two each from Grace Ridge and Elizabeth Hommel.
- Belmont Abbey also had 25 ground balls and 13 assists.
- The 13 assists is the second most in a single game this season and Fabrizio led the way with three for The Abbey.

- Prior to the game, head coach Molly Lehman-Lewis and eight women's lacrosse players were all recognized for their Coach of the Year and All-Conference honors, respectively.

- Belmont Abbey faces Mount Olive in the Conference Championship game at 1 p.m. Sunday. It is the third straight year the Crusasders and Trojans will face each other in the title game.
- The Crusaders will be vying for their first conference tournament title in program history.
