BELMONT, N.C. --
Mackenzie Sprinkle hit safely in both games of the doubleheader with North Greenville Saturday, but Belmont Abbey dropped both game in five innings, falling 8-0 and 9-0.
Sprinkle collected a single in the opener and double in the nightcap for two of the Crusaders' five hits on the day.
Belmont Abbey falls to 10-20 overall and 5-9 in league play, while NGU improves to 18-18, 6-6.
THE OPENER
- Hallie Mele had The Abbey's only other hit in the contest.
- The visitors scored single runs in the first and fourth and three runs each in the second and third.
- Addison Yoder took the loss to fall to 6-6. She struck out two in five innings of work.
THE NIGHTCAP
- Belmont Abbey gained three hits in the contest with Ruthie Allen (single) and Giovana Rodriguez (double) joining Sprinke in teh box score.
- All of North Greenville's runs came via the home run -- a grand slam in the third, two-run shot in the fourth and a three-runner in the fifth.
- Adeline Cox fell to 0-4 with the decision.

- Belmont Abbey continues its homestand on Wednesday when it hosts Converse,
