BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team earned its second straight Conference Carolinas win with a 4-3 victory over Emmanuel Saturday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders earned the doubles points by taking two of the three matches highlighted by a 7-6 (6) victory in No. 1 doubles by
Chase Martin and
Nicholas Cary over Dorian Verrue and Joan Grosset.
Martin also went on to win in No. 2 singles with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Indrek Soome.
Nelson Stafford and
Alex Turner also came away with wins in singles play for Belmont Abbey.
The Crusaders improved to 14-19 overall and 4-2 in the conference. Emmanuel is now 6-8 overall, 3-2 in the league.
