TIGERVILLE, S.C. --
Kate Roberts scored her first career hat trick and
Olivia Carlino also tallied three goals, lifting Belmont Abbey to a 15-5 win at North Greenville in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action Wednesday night. The win keeps The Abbey in a tie for first place at 7-4, 4-0, while NGU is knocked from the ranks of the league unbeatens at 6-5, 3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belmont Abbey bolted to a 5-0 lead in the game's first 11:35 on goals by Kacey Kubarewicz (two), Roberts, Riley D'Andrea and Hailey Carroll.
- Roberts scored the first of her three goals on a free position goal, just 14 seconds into the contest. She added on right before halftime for a 9-3 lead and another in the fourth that made the score 12-5.
- Carroll, D'Andrea, Kubarewicz each finished the game with two goals, while Emma Pherson, Haley Adamo and Kathryn Monk also found the net.
- Both Roberts and Carlino added an assist for a team-high four points.
- Summer Eddinger earned the win for The Abbey, stopping 13 shots over the first 46:34 of play. Kate Duell finished out the final 13:26 with three saves and two goals against.
- BAC outscored the hosts in every quarter -- 5-1, 4-2, 1-0 and 5-2.

- Belmont Abbey faces another key road game at Mount Olive on Saturday.
- Both teams are undefeated at 4-0 with the winner gaining the inside track to the regular-season title and No. 1 seed for the conference tournament.
