BANNER ELK, N.C. and BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team split the squad for a pair of matches Tuesday afternoon.
The Crusaders picked up a key Conference Carolinas win over Lees-McRae with a 4-3 victory while falling 5-2 to Montevallo Tuesday at the Reidy Tennis Center.
Kai Lloveras earned the clinching point in the Lees-McRae match in No. 6 singles.
Alex Turner and
Andres Golindano won their No. 5 and No. 4 singles matches, respectively.
The teams of

Nicolas Scheller and
Xaveam Van Wijk/
Alex Turner won their respective doubles matches to clinch the point for The Abbey.
Against Montevallo, the Crusaders were able to clinch the doubles point with two wins by
Zak Vince/Nicolas Cary along with
Thomas Roberts/
Peyton Williams.
Jai Rowe earned a singles point for Belmont Abbey as well.
Belmont Abbey is now 12-18, 2-2 in the conference. Lees-McRae is 2-6, 1-2 in league play while Montevallo is 6-7.
