GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Belmont Abbey won four of its six singles matches to come away with a 4-3 road victory at Lander Saturday at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
The Crusaders lost two of the three matches in doubles but
Alexis Burkhalter and
Frankee Hendricks teamed up for a 6-4 win over Fe Batoon and Micaela Palette.
All four wins in singles play for The Abbey came in straight sets.
Kayla Vaughan defeated Chiara Gerbino 7-5, 6-1 in No. 2 singles while
Kaitlin Nguyen earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Maranda Adair in No. 3 singles. The final two wins came with identical 6-3, 6-3, scores in No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Elizabeth Vollmin defeated Emily Ineson while
Paola Socarras defeated Becca Latty.
Both teams now have identical 4-3 overall records.
