BANNER ELK, N.C. -
Cameron Cooper collected two hits, two runs, and two RBIs against Lees-McRae, but the Crusader Softball team lost by scores of 11-6 and 6-2. The Abbey now stands at 17-13 on the year, with a 13-5 Conference Carolinas mark. Lees-McRae is now 12-24 overall, and 7-11 in conference play.
GAME 1
- Cooper hit a 2-run homer in the first to put The Abbey on top early
- Later in the inning, Hailey Gass brought Morgan Smith home for a 3-0 Crusader lead
- BAC also scored multiple runs in the third, first capitalizing on a passed ball. Later in the inning, a single to left field by Gass brought Cooper home to put The Abbey in front 5-1
- The Bobcats scored five runs in the third and fifth innings
- Annabeth Watkins struck out three batters
GAME 2
- In Game 2, the Crusaders again hit a first-inning homerun, this one by Sydney Pon
- In the third, Pon hit a double to right center, bringing home Melissa Neyhouse. Unfortunately, that was all the offense the Crusaders could get, as they lost the contest 6-2
- Pon went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs in the game
