BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey Athletics enjoyed its most successful Giving Tuesday ever, with all 28 programs -- and the department as a whole -- topping last year's figures. Over 1,600 donors generously gave more than $175,000, contributing to the efforts to develop students through Crusader Athletics.

Over the last three years, almost $400,000 has been raised to assist with the needs of individual sport programs with the donations going directly towards designated enhancements.

"As a result of the incomparable leadership of Michelle McNeight and Mike Thomas, our entire team - students, coaches, athletic trainers, administrators, alumni, parents, and numerous other members of the Abbey Community - went #AbbeyAllin to achieve a record breaking (both in overall donor contributions and total donors participating) Giving Tuesday," Vice President and Director of Athletics Stephen Miss said. "The realization of our $20/20 Vision left us all stunned, amazed, blown away, gobsmacked, deeply humbled, and ineffably grateful for and by everyone's generosity. Bolstered by this successful campaign, we look forward to capitalizing on the synergy and momentum created and to executing future philanthropic efforts in partnership with our amazing College Relations team." 

Belmont Abbey College Relations helped to support the Giving Tuesday efforts, which also saw 100 percent participation from full-time athletic staff members.
