BELMONT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey won four matches by pin and two others by technical fall, leading the Crusaders to a 31-19 victory over Coker Tuesday night in ECAC Division II Wrestling League action at the Wheeler Center.

The Crusaders opened the match with a bang as Nathan Oakley pinned Chris Navarro in the 125 weight class, the team lead was pushed to 10-0 after Justin Payne earned a 10-0 major decision in the 133 weight class. Troy Gregor gained the second Crusader pin of the night in the 141 weight division to make the score 16-0, then Travis Allen added four more points with a 12-3 win at 149.

Coker gained its first win at 157, a 17-9 major decision that closed the gap to 20-4, but Greg Hilliard recorded his seventh pin of the season to push The Abbey lead to 26-4. Jake Glunt, ranked fourth in the Super Region 2, improved to 9-2 on the season with a 19-2 technical fall victory at 174 before Coker gained a pin at 197 to make the score 31-16. The Cobras gained the final points with a decision at 285.

Belmont Abbey returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Truett-McConnell.
