Daugherty Scores Twice in Crusaders 4-1 Win

BELMONT, N.C. - Tatiana Daugherty scored twice against the Emmanuel Lions to lead the Belmont Abbey women's soccer team to a 4-1 victory this afternoon.  With the win, the Crusaders move to 5-3 on the year, with a 3-1 Conference Carolinas record.  The Lions are now 5-3 overall, and 3-2 in conference play.

How it Happened

  • Emmanuel scored first, and led 1-0 at halftime
  • Daugherty, however, only needed three minutes into the second half to tie the game at one, off a pass from Allyson Elliott
  • Morgan Patton scored just a minute and a half later, also off a feed from Elliott
  • Just four minutes after that, Daugherty scored from the left side to put The Abbey in front 3-1
  • Then in the 64th minute, Elliott found Morgan Farrar for a goal, and her third assist of the day
  • As a unit, Belmont Abbey outshot Emmanuel 17-12
  • The Crusaders took eight corner kicks, to the Lions' two
