PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Belmont Abbey Women's Bowling team competed in the FAMU Rattler in Pensacola, Fla. this weekend, hosted by Florida A&M University. The Crusaders finished with a 7-6 record for the weekend.
On Friday, The Abbey won of its five Baker matches. They beat Grambling State, and earned two wins over Alabama A&M. The team also faced Southern University and Bethune-Cookman University on Friday. Through the first four matches Belmont Abbey was in fourth place.
On Saturday, the Crusaders won two matches; one over Grambling State and one over Alabama State. Belmont Abbey also had matches against Alabama State, Florida A&M, and Texas Southern. Belmont Abbey Crusaders was in sixth place after first the match, but fought its way back into fifth by the end of match five, against Florida A&M.
Belmont Abbey will next compete in the James Brown Invitational on February 17-18. That tournament will take place in Towson, Md.
