MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Brandi Barefoot bowled 162 in both the first and last games, while also recording a 132 game, to lead the women's bowling team in the Hornet Classic this weekend. The Crusaders finished the tournament in eighth place.
The Abbey stood in ninth place after Day 1 with a total team score of 3706 and a 2-2 record on the day. Then on Day 2, the team went 2-3 but climbed a spot in the standings. The Abbey went 1-2 in the final day to finish the tournament with a 5-7 record, good enough for eighth place.
The Crusaders as a unit bowled an average of 161.04 per game. Barefoot's average of 173.4 for the tournament earned her a top-25 finish among individual bowlers.
Belmont Abbey will next compete in the Wildcat Invitational. That tournament will take place on December 2 in 3 in New Castle, Del.
