SUMTER, S.C. - Kent Shiell won both his singles and doubles matches, and the number 3 seed Belmont Abbey Men's Tennis team earned a 4-0 victory over the number 6 seed Chowan this afternoon.  With the win, The Abbey improves to 13-13 on the year.

How it Happened

  • Shiell paired up with Bailey Horne to earn a 6-2 victory at #2 doubles, which clinched the doubles point win for the Crusaders, who won #3 doubles off a forfeit
  • Zachary Blythe earned a quick 6-0, 6-4 victory at #1 singles, his 10th singles win of the year
  • Shiell won his #3 singles match 6-4, 6-2.  His win clinched the match for Belmont Abbey
  • Belmont Abbey did not lose a set in the match
