TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team clinched a spot in the Conference Carolinas tournament with the 1-0 win over North Greenville. With the win, The Abbey improves to 7-4-1 on the year with a 6-0-1 Conference Carolinas record. North Greenville moves to 2-11-1 this year with a 2-5-0 league record.
- The only scoring of the game came in the 39th minute when Ryan Cowie scored his first goal of the season off a pass from Davis McBee.
- Belmont Abbey outshot North Greenville 8-1 in the first half.
- North Greenville reversed the shots in the second half, edging out The Abbey 8-0.
- Abbey keeper Ben Knust recorded three saves in the contest.
The men's soccer team will host Erskine Saturday at 12 noon as they honor their seniors before the game.
