CENTRAL, S.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team collected six goals in their 6-2 win over Southern Wesleyan. The Crusaders (3-4, 3-0 Conference Carolinas) saw five different goal scorers find the back of the net to capture the win over SWU (1-6, 0-3).
Highlights
- The Warrior's Grant Kiker opened the scoring in the 20th minute.
- The Crusaders responded in the 32nd minute with a goal from Mikey Puskar.
- Belmont Abbey took the lead in the 35th minute when Albin Baathe scored.
- Two minutes later, Puskar scored his second goal, on a pass from Gianni Serio, to give The Abbey a 3-1 lead at the half.
- SWU scored in the 51st minute from Jesus Sosa.
- Abbey's Kenz Buteau added to the lead in the 62nd minute.
- Sam Hatoff scored on a pass from Aaron Madison in the 73rd minute.
- Madison sealed the deal in the 89th minute to secure the 6-2 win.
- The Crusaders outshot the Warriors 29-9 in the contest.
