The Limestone women and Erskine men both hold the overnight lead after the opening round of the 2014 Conference Carolinas Golf Championships. Belmont Abbey is hosting the 54 hole event at the par 72 Bryan Park-The Champions Course-in Greensboro, North Carolina. The second round begins Monday morning at 8:00 a.m.
Today's round was played under mostly sunny skies with consistent wind gusts that led to rounds lasting over five and a half hours.

In the women's tournament, Limestone pieced together a consistent team effort as three of the Saints five players are in the top six. Limestone leads Mount Olive by eight shots. Converse is third.
Individually, King University's Elizabeth Swallow and Erskine's Krysta Schaus are tied for the lead with a three over 75. Belmont Abbey's Becca Kasten is among a group of three players that are just one shot back.
On the men's side, Erskine fired a 289 as it leads Limestone by three shots and North Greenville by 11.
Individually, three players posted rounds in the red numbers, led by Limestone's Will Woodard, who fired a two under 70. He leads Tucker MacDonald (North Greenville) and Tyler Lucas (Erskine) by one shot. Three other players-two from Erskine-carded rounds of level par. MacDonald was the first player to record a red number on the scoreboard.
Tomorrow's round will feature the same groupings and tee times as today's opening round. However, the men will begin Monday off the tenth tee and the women will start on the first tee.
