BELMONT, N.C. - Luke Cureton, Colin Rosenbaum, and Matt McGarry have been named to All-Southeast Region teams after the completion of the 2018 season. Three different organizations released their all-region teams as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), NCAA D2 Conference Commissioners Association (CCA), and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings all had Crusaders earning the recognition.
Left fielder Cureton was named in all three releases claiming first-team in the ABCA/Rawlings and second-team in both the NCBWA and NCAA D2CCA. The senior from Indianapolis led Conference Carolinas with 67 runs scored and 25 doubles. Cureton collected a team-high 76 hits and 67 runs scored while also blasting 14 home runs and 58 RBI.
Shortstop Colin Rosenbaum was named to the second-team all-region by ABCA/Rawlings and NCAA D2CCA. The senior from Archdale, N.C. led the Crusaders with a .374 batting average and 76 hits. Rosenbaum scored 61 runs and drove in 49 runs in his senior campaign.
Second basemen Matt McGarry earned third-team honors from NCBWA as he led Belmont Abbey with 23 stolen bases. The San Diego native hit .349 with 64 runs scored while driving in 25 runs with 75 hits.
The Crusaders finished the 2018 season 40-14 advancing to the NCAA Southeast Regional Final. After finishing third in Conference Carolinas, The Abbey earned a bid to the southeast region as the three seed
