Trailing 8-6 at the half, the Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse team outscored Bloomsburg 8-6 in the second half, including a string of six unanswered goals, but Bloomsburg pushed its lead to two with 1:48 left to stop the rally as to earn a 14-12 win this afternoon at Alumni Field. Bloomsburg moves to 2-0, while the Abbey drops to 1-4.

Belmont Abbey sophomore first baseman Danny Brion capped a five run Abbey comeback with a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh, and sophomore pitcher Nate Cudney held Coker to just two hits while striking out eight in seven innings of relief as the Crsuaders earned a Conference Carolinas series win with a 5-4 victory over the Cobras in the rubber game of a three-game series. The Abbey moves to 10-9 overall and finishes its home Conference Carolinas schedule with a 8-3 mark, while Coker falls to 11-10 overall and 5-7 in Conference Carolinas.

The Belmont Abbey men's lacrosse team rallied erased an 8-2 deficit by scoring three unanswered goals, but Wingate was able to withstand the rally and earn a 12-9 win this afternoon at Irwin Belk Stadium. The host Bulldogs bolted to a 7-1 advantage after one quarter and withstood a furious Crusader rally. Wingate is 2-4 overall, while Belmont Abbey falls to 1-2 overall.
