BELMONT, N.C. -- Two early seasons invitationals and several home promotional events highlight the 2017 Belmont Abbey Women's Volleyball schedule, Head Coach Toni Elyea announced today.
The Crusaders will participate in tournaments at Catawba and Francis Marion over the first two weekends (Sept. 1-2 and Sept. 8-9) with a non-conference trip to Augusta in between. The home opener is set for Sept. 12 against former Conference Carolinas rival Pfeiffer in what has been designated Red, White and Blue night.
League play begins Sept. 12 with a trip to Erskine, while the first conference match at home will be Wednesday, Sept. 20 against King in the annual #RaisetheRed match. A total of nine home dates are slated for the Wheeler Center with homecoming taking place against Barton on Sept. 30 and Senior Day set for Nov. 4 against Limestone. Other home matches have promotions of Hawaiian Day, a Pink Match and both White- and Black-outs.
"We are so excited to see all of our hard work from this offseason increase our game in every way for 2017," Elyea said. "Our ladies have been working tirelessly with our strength and conditioning staff and we are looking forward to it paying off during our 2017 campaign. We want to be back at the championship on November 12 and are focused on playing tough non-conference competition to make sure we are prepared for hard-fought conference matches."
