Henriott, Kenney Lead Crusaders at Barton

WILSON, N.C. -- Alexandra Henriott had seven kills and Sarah Kenney had 18 digs, but it was not enough as Barton edged Belmont Abbey 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 in a battle for first place in the Conference Carolinas North Division. The setback snapped an eight-game winning streak for the Crusaders.

Henriott added five digs and two block assists to her stat line to pace Belmont Abbey (9-9, 7-2). Hannah Dubas and Aimee Cloninger each chipped in five kills, while Gabby Martinez was the assist leader with 15.

The Bulldogs (10-7, 7-1) had two players top double figures in kills and held a .221 to .091 hitting advantage. They also 10 aces and 11 total blocks.

Belmont Abbey will have a chance to rebound quickly as it faces Mount Olive tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.
