CENTRAL, S.C. -- Julia Otranto and Savannah Lamb advanced to the finals in their respective events, highlighting Belmont Abbey's first day at the 2018 Conference Carolinas Women's Track and Field Championships. Otranto won her 800m heat in the time of 2:28.07 to qualify, while Lamb posted the eighth-best preliminary time in the 400 Hurdles (career-best 1:12.18).
Lamb just missed a second final, placing ninth in the 100m Hurdles despite a personal-best time of 16.03. She was .21 seconds off the last qualifier.
Belmont Abbey did not score any points on the opening day, but has a busy slate of action tomorrow on the final day of competition.
