Hetzel, Lamb Post Qualifying Times at Susan Rouse Invitational

CENTRAL, S.C. -- Annie Hetzel and Savannah Lamb posted Conference Carolinas Championship qualifying standards Saturday, highlighting Belmont Abbey's performance at the Susan Rouse Invitational, hosted by Southern Wesleyan. Hetzel qualified in the 1500m, winning her heat and finishing fourth overall with a time of 5:02.66, while Lamb won her heat and finished sixth in the 100 hurdles (16.29).

Lamb also placed sixth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:13.27, winning the first heat. Jillian Culbertson placed 10th in the race with a time of 1:25.08. Theresa Wilson finished sixth in the 3000 Steeplechase (14:24.52). McQune won her heat in the 400m to place 10th, while also winning her heat in the 200m. Genevieve Hickin had the best time in her two heats (200m and 400m), while Brette Linkenhoker won her 800m heat.

In the field events, Hickin placed sixth in the pole vault (2.60m), while Katherine Rojas was ninth in the long jump, covering 4.45m on her second attempt. Desenia Sanchez won her flight in the discus as did Linda Randazzo in the javelin.

Belmont Abbey competes in the North Carolina A&T Invitational next weekend.
