NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Belmont Abbey's Elizabeth Thierfelder has earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association, the group announced recently. In total, 471 female student-athletes were listed, with Thierfelder the only student-athlete from Conference Carolinas.
To qualify, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.
Thierfelder graduated in May with a 3.65 grade-point average in double majors of English and Theology. She earned a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 56.71 in the 400 meters at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field Championships.
