BELMONT, N.C. -- A total of five incoming and returning Belmont Abbey Women's Tennis players have been sharpening their games with tremendous success at ITA Summer Circuit Events hosted around the country this summer.
Teagan McNamara, Hannah Davis, Morgan Nguyen, Erica Dorn, and Riley Ellingson all competed in events at Indiana, Gustavus Adolphus, Florida State, Florida, Middle Tennessee State, Western Michigan and Georgia Gwinnett College.
Ellingson, an incoming freshman, posted the summer's best result -- winning the consolation bracket without dropping a set at the Gustavus Adolphus ITA. This marks the first time a Crusader has ever won a bracket in a summer ITA-sanctioned tournament.
"I've been really pleased to see the players working on their game and competing hard this summer," Head Coach Michael Salomon said. "A lot of the players played non-ITA tournaments in addition to these results, so I'm very excited to hit the ground running as soon as the season begins this August. A special 'congratulations' goes to Riley for representing Belmont Abbey so well even before she arrives."
